Just around the corner.

Summer's just around the corner, waiting for its turn.

As soon as spring has had it’s play, we’ll feel the sunshine burn.

But something’s causing quite a stir before the spring is sprung,

the strong winds blow in from the north - the winter’s not yet done.

It’s snowy,  wet,  and cold to boot,  despite our moans and groans;

and there’s no sign of summers warmth, to ease our weary bones.

I’ve put back on those 'clouts' I shed, no doubt cast off to soon,

for just a week or so ago, it seemed like blooming June.

But  keep  in  mind  not  long  from now ,

for then we'll all be sweltering,

For when it gets to

much to bare,

from ‘it’

we'll

all

be

sheltering.
